This is an original watercolor painting by Barb Capeletti. Here in Coral Springs, in South Florida, we have an original covered bridge - actually the only covered bridge in Florida in the public right-of- way. The Covered Bridge was the first permanent structure built within the City by Coral Ridge Properties, developer of Coral Springs, in 1964. The covered bridge itself was painted various times, and it was memorialized by many artists in their paintings as well.
I decided to paint this covered bridge myself, as part of a large group of paintings submitted for a competition for a big show. Happy to say, I won the competition and will be the Signature artist for this 2-day show in March 2016 - Coral Springs Festival of the Arts!
I wanted to express the warmth of the covered bridge and the surrounding landscape so I used bold colors and allowed only the bridge itself to be in focus. You can imagine perhaps a horse and rider coming through, or a couple of children on their way to play.
This painting measures 15" x 22" and is sold unframed and unmatted. Ships free to US. Painted on 300-lb cold press watercolor paper.
